Doomed regeneration organisation the North West Regional Development Agency (RDA) has ploughed £4 billion in the region over the past decade. It is being shut down due to coalition public-spending cuts. The figures are included in a report to the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA). AGMA executive member Sir Richard Leese said of what will replace the RDA: "We do not yet have clear detail of what the new arrangements will involve but there is a consensus among local authorities in the region that we will need to continue driving our regional presence."
