Staff at Darwen Vale High School in Darwen said they have a lack of backing from management when they confront bad behaviour from pupils and thus took part in a one-day walkout today (Thursday, April 7). Head teacher Hilary Torpey said she was disappointed with the strike. She added: "My main priority is around the wellbeing and education of our pupils and the best interests of the school. I want to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum."
One way to improve pupil behaviour is to raise their attendance. Time and Attendance North West, based in Merseyside, can supply a scaled-down version of their leading WinTA time and attendance systems which is ideal for schools. All pupils need is access to a computer in order to register their attendance as no further clocking systems are needed. All 'clocking' is done on a screen on the PC. Complete time and attendance systems are available from us from as little as £1,500, so contact us for details
