Security is to be tightened up in the North West with police escorts for cash vans. Titan, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit which is behind the service, will be covering Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and North Wales. Police forces from across the region will also crack down on crimes involving cash machines. A statement from Titan said: "The region has seen a significant fall in cash-in-transit robberies in recent years but we are not complacent."
